Pemetrexed approved for the treatment of Mesothelioma

Pemetrexed, which is also known as Alimta, has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of malignant mesothelioma. In combination with platinol studies have shown that overall survival increased 30%. One year survival was noted to be 50.3% with the combination and 38% with just platinol alone.
