Breast Cancer: Bone Marrow Status Important In Prediction Of Outcomes

A recent study has demonstrated that the presence of micro- metastasis in the bone marrow of patients with breast cancer predicts for relapse. A ten year study of 4,268 patients with breast cancer in Austria and Germany demonstrated that women with bone marrow micro-metastasis had a significantly greater chance for relapse then women without a positive bone marrow.
