Childhood Leukemia: Outcomes influenced by race and ethnicity
This study can be found in Blood, 2002; 100: 1957-1964. The children's Cancer study group found that in standard risk pediatric lymphoblastic leukemia patients Whites, Hispanics and Asians had event free survival rates of 75% - 78%k versus 64% for blacks.
Further studies are underway to find out why these significant differences were found.
