PET scans have been found to be highly accurate in staging brain tumors. Grading the scans on a scale of 1-3 researchers were able to differentiate patients with aggressive or less aggressive tumors. Such determinations can aid in deciding on therapeutic options. PET scans are becoming ever more usefule in clinical oncology their uses continue to expand.
